Joseph E. Swatsell, Sr.

West Frankfort- JOSEPH EDWARD SWATSELL, SR, age 84, of West Frankfort, passed away at 11:55am on Sunday, September 24, 2006 at his residence in West Frankfort. Joseph was born on January 10, 1922 in Herrin, the son of John Raymond and Flora Mae (Lane) Swatsell. Mr. Swatsell was a US Army Veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific Theater. He retired from the Kincaid Power Plant for Commonwealth Edison Power Company in Springfield. Joe was a member of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. He had lived in Illinois, Utah, and Arizona. Survivors include- Son and Daughter-In-Law- Joseph E. and Rhonda Swatsell, Jr- West Jordan, Utah Grandson- Jonathon Swatsell- West Jordan, Utah Granddaughter- Ashley Swatsell- West Jordan, Utah First Wife- Lillian Lucille Lundholm- West Jordan, Utah Several Nieces and Nephews Joe was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, four sisters, and two infant sisters. Private inurnment will take place at Herrin City Cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
