Joyce Ellen Travelstead

August 13, 1938 — May 19, 2020

Joyce Ellen Travelstead, 81, of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 9:21 am.

Joyce was born August 13, 1938 in Carterville the daughter of Richard Leon and Mary Geneva (Talley) Impson.  She married William Lorenez Travelstead on May 16, 1957 in Crainville and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1969.

She was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church of Marion and retired from the US Postal Service. Joyce was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables, loved traveling and spent countless hours embroidering quilt blocks.  She had an extensive collection of dolls and Christmas villages.  She was well known for her daily trip to the DQ for a coke with “light ice.”

Joyce had a big heart and loved giving to others, especially during the Holidays.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family.

While at the Anchor Senior Living, Joyce was lovingly known as “Juicy J,” and often found uplifting those around her.  Her spunky personality put a smile on everyone’s face! The family wants to thank the staff for their love and care while she was a resident.
