Herrin- Juanita G. Burlison, 89, of Herrin, passed away at 1:12 AM, Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Marion Rehab and Care Center. Juanita was born on November 19, 1921 in Makanda, IL to John William and Jessie Mae ( Fouts) Smith. She married Glen Lavern Burlison on November 21, 1936 in De Soto, IL. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1985. Juanita was a homemaker and a member and former board member of First Church of the Nazarene in Marion. She enjoyed craftwork, spending time with her grandchildren and reading. Survivors include- Son- Dallas Laverne Burlison and wife Nancy of Lake Stevens, WA Son- Randall Glen Burlison and wife Lois of Delafield, WI Daughter- Cheryl Ann Hardin and husband Gary of Herrin Seven Grandchildren: Scott Burlison and wife Dana of Herrin David Burlison and wife Sharon of Snohomish, WA Susan Verhagen and husband Jeff of Brookfield, WI Sarah Ludwick and husband Curt of Whitefish Bay, WI Lori Womick and husband Richard of Honduras Julie Bonali and husband Michael of Carterville Wendy Haynes and husband Michael of Herrin Fourteen Great Grandchildren One Great Great Grandchild on the way Brother- Charles Smith and wife Pat of Freeman Spur Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter- Tracy Frizzell and five brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Paul Lee and Rev. Bobby Parker will officiate. Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Monday, June 13, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to the First Church of the Nazarene in Marion and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St./ Herrin, IL 62948.
