Juanita Garavalia

Herrin Juanita C. Garavalia, 75, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 9:03 A.M. in Heartland Regional Medical Center. Juanita was born August 2, 1932 in Williamson County the daughter of Oscar and Olivia Fries. Juanita was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. She had worked at Allen Industries and had cooked at area restaurants, including Hungrys. Juanita was a wonderful mother to her six children and she loved being a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook and a very kind and giving person, she enjoyed needle work and gardening. Survivors include; Five sons; Earl Thomas Riggs, Jr. and wife Tammy of Wickenberg, AZ David Leon Riggs of Wickenberg, AZ James Ernest Riggs of Carterville Clarence Dale Riggs and wife Joyce Elaine of Herrin Shane Riggs and wife Brooke of Carbondale Daughter Beverly Ellis and husband Charlie of Rogersville, MO Five Grandchildren; Jason Riggs Bradley Alan Riggs Daniel Williams Tracie Riggs Mitchell Riggs Brother Henry Fries and wife Lucille of Pittsburg, CA Two sisters; Pauline Jennings and husband Carl of Golconda Darlene Sheppard of Herrin Preceded by Parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Paul Reed officiating. Entombment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
