Juanita M. White

Herrin- Juanita Marie White, 85, of Herrin, passed away at 7:50 PM, Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Herrin Hospital with her family by her side. Juanita was born on August 21, 1918 in West Frankfort to John & Zella (Bandy) Shamblin. She married J.D. White on July 4, 1935 in Pinckneyville. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1990. Mrs. White, along with her husband, owned and operated White Electric in Herrin for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Herrin and past member of Herrin Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Herrin Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and the Franklin County Country Club, where she enjoyed playing golf with her family and friends. Juanita was a nurturer and a caregiver. This was exemplified in her love for animals and her knack for gardening; especially roses. SURVIVORS: Son & Daughter in law- Dan & Marva White- Alba, TX Son & Daughter in law- Tim & Donna White- Lake of Egypt Four Grandchildren: Todd White & wife Davonna- Houston, TX Jeff White & wife Julie- Edmond, OK David White & wife Jeni- Cambridge, MA Allison Knight & husband Jim- Wadsworth, OH Nine Great Grandchildren: Jordan & Miranda White- Houston, TX Madison & Jase White- Edmond, OK Alex Joy & Zachary White- Cambridge, MA Austin, Alanna, & Ava Noelle Knight- Wadsworth, OH Sister in law- Mel White- Herrin Sister in law & brother in law- Jackie & Gene Bender- Florissant, MO Several nieces & nephews Dear Friend & Caregiver- Loudene Strunk- Herrin She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother; John Shamblin. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 20, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Paul Tirey will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until time of service, Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to Herrin First Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
