Judith A. Lawrence

Herrin- Judith A. Lawrence, 65, of Herrin, passed away at 8:45 AM, Saturday, May 29, 2010 at her home in Herrin. Judith was born on June 12, 1944 in Williamson County to Charles & Myrtle Land. She married Leonard G. Lawrence on June 11, 1971 in Marion. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2007. Judith was Pentecost and formerly worked at Norge in Herrin and then next in various positions within the Best Inns hotel chain. She enjoyed fishing and quilting, spending time with her pets and travelling with her family. She was a generous supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and St. Judes Childrens Hospital. Survivors include- Son- Billy Williams of Herrin Daughter- Kendra Avery & husband Eric of Herrin Step daughter- Cindy Dennie of Herrin Step daughter- Shari Davis of Carterville Step son- Ed Lawrence of Herrin Grandchild- Michelle Thompson of Carbondale Grandchild- Mike DeWitt of Benton Great Grandchild- Makaila Elyannah Peevy of Carbondale Great Grandchild- Gavin Ian Parker DeWitt of Benton Brother- George Land & wife Fern of Lick Creek Brother- Kenny Land & wife Connie Several nieces, nephews and cousins She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers- Jimmy, Paul, Robert and Frank Land. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
