Judith P. Leeper

Herrin- Judith P. Judy Leeper, 69, of Herrin, passed away at 10:14 PM, Monday, August 22, 2011 at her home. Judy was born on October 5, 1941 in Cambria to Carroll Bradley & Thelma (Thomas) Berry. She married Glen Leeper on June 18, 1960 at Hurricane Memorial Baptist Church in Herrin. He survives of Herrin. Judy was a homemaker who previously worked several years as a nurse for Mattingly Health Care in Energy. She enjoyed travel, especially to Las Vegas where she enjoyed going to the shows. She also liked various forms of craftwork and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her. Survivors include- Daughter- Kathleen Leeper of Herrin Son- John Leeper of Herrin Daughter- Michelle Leeper of Herrin Daughter in law- Virginia Leeper of Vienna Grandchild- Dusty Leeper of Johnston City Grandchildren- Joshua and Stormie Leeper of Herrin Sister- Linda Rains of Johnston City Sister- Regina Smith of Herrin Sister- Latisa Wilson of Herrin She was preceded in death by her parents, son- Dennis Leeper and grandchild- Travis Leeper. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 26, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
