Julia A. Potthoff

Marion- Julia A. Potthoff, 88, of Marion, passed away at 8:00 AM, Monday, September 4, 2006 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Julia was born on July 13, 1918 in Chisholm, MN to John & Theresa (Sterle) Mlakar. She married Marvin J. Potthoff on July 12, 1941 in Chisholm, MN. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1989. Mrs. Potthoff graduated from St. Cloud University in St. Cloud, MN and taught school in Minnesota, Missouri, Washington and Illinois prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Illinois Teachers Association, Missouri Education Association and the National Education Association. She was an active member of St .Josephs Catholic Church in Marion. She served on the Womens Guild the New Comers (Lunch Bunch) and the Birthday Club. Julia was also a member of the Marion Senior Citizens and Senior Circle. SURVIVORS: Son & daughter in law- David J. & Dolores Potthoff- St. Louis, MO Daughter & son in law- Judy & John Crawford- Carterville Several nieces & nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters; Fannie Sullivan, Mary Holker & Rose Molick. The funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 7, 2006 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Marion. Father Richard Mohr will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
