Marion Julian Edward Richey, 77, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at 4:10 A.M. at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Julian was born April 10, 1928 to Milo Parks Richey & Fannie (Turner) Richey in Crab Orchard. He married Ursula Fish on March 3, 1956 in Marion and together they have enjoyed over 49 years of marriage. She survives in Marion.
Julian retired as a printer for the Marion Daily Republican where he had worked for over 40 years. He was an Army veteran answering the call to serve his country in the Korean War. Concluding the Korean War he was awarded the Korean War Service Medal and was awarded a medal of appreciation from the country of South Korea. Julian was a lifetime member of VFW Post #1301 of Marion and a proud member of the International Typographical Union. He enjoyed fishing & woodworking. He touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral services will be Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Sam White officiating. Burial will follow in Coal Bank Springs Cemetery with military rites performed by VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147 of Marion. Visitation will be Saturday from Noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
