Herrin- June M. Grear, 82, of Carbondale, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 12:30 AM, Saturday, April 16, 2005 at her daughters home in Carbondale.
June was born on June 23, 1922 in St. Louis, MO to William & Marian (Sowman) Watson. She married Harold Eugene Grear in December of 1945 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on March 28, 1961.
Mrs. Grear worked as assistant innkeeper at the Marion Holiday Inn for many years before retiring from Herrin Hospital where she worked in admitting. After retirement, June worked at Century 21 as an administrative assistant.
She was a devout catholic and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She was an active and adventurous lady who enjoyed games of chance and at one time even danced with Betty Grable. She loved her family and will be sadly missed by those that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son; Thom Grear.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home
