Karen Brown

Karen (Mays) Brown, age 37, of Herrin, passed away at 4:37pm on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Friendship Care Center in Herrin. Karen was born in Chicago Heights, IL on March 19, 1970, the daughter of George Mays and Deborah H. Keller. Before moving to Herrin, Karen was a longtime resident of Chicago Heights. She enjoyed painting and writing letters to keep in touch with her family. Survivors include her mother- Deborah Christ of Sayer, WI Father- George Mays of Energy, IL Four children- Amber, Floyd Jr., Danille, and Andrew Grandmother- Geneva Mays-Hutton Step-mother- Diane Rice Two brothers- Alan Mays and Steven Mays Two sisters- Amanda (Mays) Wingo and Christina (Mays) Colyer Uncle- Timothy Keller of Houston, TX Two aunts Three uncles Seven nieces and nephews Karen was preceded in death by one daughter- Aleisha and her grandparents- Helen and Otalla Keller. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, September 24, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Marvin Boswell officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Monday, September 24, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
