Karen Lea Snyder

Herrin- Karen Lea Snyder, 62, of Herrin, passed away at 2:40 AM, Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Herrin Hospital. Karen was born on July 22, 1947 in Matoon, IL to Morris Eugene & Hazel (Ronk) Haney. She married Jack Snyder in 1990 at Las Vegas, NV. He survives of Herrin. Karen was a homemaker and devoted wife who occasionally worked outside the home. Her greatest passion was painting and poetry and she was a published author of romance novels. She enjoyed yard sales and attended Herrin First Baptist Church. Survivors include- Husband- Jack Snyder of Herrin Son- Terry Gronek of Herrin Son- Thomas Gronek and wife Heather of Arcata, CA Three Grandchildren Brother- Ed Haney of London, OH She was preceded in death her parents and brother- Tom Haney. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial arrangements were made by Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
