Marion Kathryn A. Kay Miller, 85, of West Plains, Missouri formerly of Marion, passed away on Monday, December 07, 2009 at the Ozark Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri. She was born August 15, 1924 in rural Champaign County, Illinois the daughter of Alfred and Gladys (Smith) Gregerson. Kay was united in marriage to John L. Miller on April 15, 1944 in Champaign, Illinois. The enjoyed 52 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on November 11, 1997. Kay was an active member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Marion for over 50 years. She served as church secretary for the entire pastorate of Rev. Carl E. Hearn. She retired from CIPS after 15 years of service as the Section Secretary to the Electric Operations Supervisor of the Southern Division of CIPS. Prior to her service with CIPS, she was employed by Rodd Realty and Insurance for 17 years. She is survived by her: Son Gary Miller and wife Gloria of West Plains, Missouri Grandson John Miller of West Plains, Missouri Granddaughters: Shannon Wright of West Plains, Missouri Tresa Miller of Marion Lisa Robinson of Marion Dianna Kent of Marion Great Grandchildren; Kay Lee Zukas Allie & Caysen Barks Ethan & Wyatt Maze Gage & Lanie Grace Kent Abby & Nichole Kent Anaika & Nichole Miller Sister in law Charlene & Roland Gregerson-Payette of Rantoul, Illinois Nephews; Larry & Ricki Gregerson of Seattle, Washington Garry Alan Gregerson of Rockford, Illinois Roger & Mary Lou Farmer of Iowa Niece Cathy Thorpe of Gibson City, Illinois Dear Friends Pauline & Nick Davis of Marion and Buzzie & Chuck Smith of West Frankfort Preceded by her Parents, Husband, Brother Bob and Sister Fran Funeral services will be Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 11 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Black officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5 8 P.M. at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the 1st United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.
