Kathryn W. Harshman

Herrin- Kathryn W. Harshman, 84, of Herrin, passed away at 12:05 PM, Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Herrin Hospital. Kathryn was born on February 26, 1921 in Hurst to William Tim & Annameda (Crews) Wilson. She married Lloyd Harshman on February 2, 1960 in Hialeah, FL. He preceded her in death in April of 1991. Kay retired as a hairdresser after working for thirty years at shops in Miami and Detroit. She put herself through Beauty College by going door to door and offering to do hair in Herrin. She was of protestant faith. SURVIVORS: Daughter- Judith Kay Anderson- Torrance, CA Daughter- Connie Lee McVey- Torrance, CA Grandson- Brent Ward- Las Vegas, NV Sister- Evelyn Powell- Kissimmee, FL Loving Friend & caregiver- Jean Walker- Energy Close Friend- Robert Benz- Herrin She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Private services will be held at Blairsville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
