Katie Rose Gualdoni

MHerrin- Katie Gualdoni, 97, of Herrin, died at 7:40 AM, Saturday, March 20, 2003 at her home with her family. Katie was born on September 17, 1906 in Herrin to Louis C. & Louise (Merlo) Gualdoni. She never married and retired as an assemblyman at Norge Co. in Herrin. She was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and will be missed by her family and friends. SURVIVORS: Nephews: Robert Venegoni- Herrin Bill & Jo Ann Venegoni- Kirkwood, MO Niece- Dorothy & Louis Marlow- Herrin Great Nephew- Richard & Mary Kay Marlow- Johnston City Great Nieces: Tiffany Venegoni- St. Louis Nicole Venegoni- St. Louis Barbara & Robert Lilianstrom- OFallon, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters; Lena Venegoni, Eda Gualdoni, Mary Gioannini, and Rose Gualdoni, one brother; Charles Gualdoni, and two brothers in law; Charles Gioannini & Frank Venegoni. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be from 6-8:30 PM, Monday, March 22, 2004 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois, San Carlo Cemetery Fund, Cabrini Hall, or to the OLMC/ Renovation Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
