Kedan G. Seagraves

An angel was needed in Heaven on Monday, June 4, 2007 when God summoned Kedan Gregory Seagraves to come home. A heart of gold stopped beating, two shining eyes at rest. God broke our hearts to prove, he only takes the best. Kedan was a special child born in Carbondale on July 22, 2002 to the loving parents James Gregory Seagraves (formerly of Hartsville, TN) and Sandra (Knusta) Seagraves of Herrin. Kedan brought so much joy to his family. Each time more than one word was said, it was a great triumph. Autism brought with it so many quirks and he was a great teacher to his family. God gave him to us for a short time to cherish and called him back at four years, ten months, and thirteen days. Kedan loved going to school. He attended the SIU Autism Center and was a student at Northside Pre-K. Survivors include his parents- Greg and Sandra Seagraves of Herrin, IL 2 brothers- Jaden and Anthony Seagraves- at home in Herrin, IL 1 sister- Maykaylee Seagraves- at home in Herrin, IL Maternal Grandparents- Kenneth & Phyllis Knusta of Herrin, IL Paternal Grandmother- Hollis Seagraves of Hartsville, TN Great Grandmothers- Irene Knusta of Herrin and Ruby Wagner of Virginia Uncle- Ken and Melody Knusta of Herrin, IL Uncle- Marty and Amanda Seagraves Aunt Lisa and Butch Bandy of Lafayette, TN Special Cousins- Chase, Trent, and Avery Knusta of Herrin, IL Hayley and Peyton Seagraves and Eric Bandy of Lafayette, TN Funeral services for Kedan will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 8, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Pastors Brent Fitzgerald and Steve McKeown officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Marty Seagraves, Butch Bandy, and Eric Bandy will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. A trust fund has been established at the Bank of Herrin and memorial donations will be accepted in Kedans name.
