Kenneth E. Dotson

Energy- KENNETH EUGENE DOTSON, age 65, of Energy, went to be with the Lord at 7:08AM on Monday, May 28, 2007 at his residence in Energy, after a brave battle with a four year illness. Kenneth was born in Goreville on July 24, 1941, the son of Clarence and Regina (Burklow) Dotson. He married Linda Kanady on February 27, 1960 in Herrin and together they have shared 47 years of marriage. She survives in Energy. Mr. Dotson was a retired coal miner for Consolidated Coal Company. He attended Radio Tabernacle in Herrin. Ken was a member of the United Mine Workers of America- District Twelve. Kenneth loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He would lay down his very life for his family. He is now at peace and with his youngest daughter- Kimberly Ann Dotson. Survivors include his wife- Linda Dotson of Energy, IL 3 sons- Kenneth David and Denise Dotson of Herrin, IL Brian Keith and Kimberly Dotson of Cambria, IL Gregory Kent Dotson of Energy, IL 6 grandchidren- Shanna and Travis Smith of Mooresville, NC Tiffany and Steven Bayer of Hurst, IL Brittany Dotson of Cambria, IL Jacob Dotson of Herrin, IL Caleb Dotson of Herrin, IL David Dotson of Herrin, IL 2 great grandchildren- Landen & Whitney Bayer of Hurst, IL 1 brother- Roger and Debbie Dotson of Herrin, IL 5 sisters- Violet Dotson of Chicago, IL Louise Jackson of Energy, IL Pam and Kenny Robinson of Blueford, IL Debbie and Delbert Gregg of Herrin, IL Mary Lyle and Mike Davis of Creal Springs, IL Several nieces and nephews Ken was preceded in death by his parents and his youngest daughter- Kimberly Ann Dotson. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. The Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Wednesday May 30, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
