Marion Kenneth Eugene Rodd, Sr., 86, of Albany, Georgia formerly of Marion, died Sunday, September 9, 2007 at Lillian Carter Nursing Home.
Mr. Rodd was born June 7, 1921 in Marion the son of Archie E. & Elva (Hastings) Rodd. He married Irmo Tolbert and she preceded him in death on June 15, 1998..
Mr. Rodd moved to Albany in 1968 to work with Civil Service at the Naval Air Station. He retired from Civil Service in Albany, and worked with Rodd Electronics which was founded in September 1970. Mr. Rodd was retired from the US Air Force in 1961 as a Chief Warrant Officer with twenty years service. During his Air Force service, he participated in the Berlin Airlift. He continued his passion with aviation and became a private pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Albany, Georgia.

Graveside services will be Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Oddfellows Cemetery with full military honors by the Scott Air Force Honor Guard Unit. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home will be handling arrangements. Friends and family are asked to gather for a time of fellowship at the Hampton Inn in Marion immediately following the graveside service.
