Kenneth G. Morse

Herrin- Kenneth Gordon Morse, 63, of Herrin, passed away at 8:24 AM, Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Herrin Hospital. Kenneth was born on June 16, 1948 in Herrin to Lee Roy and Stella (Miner) Morse. He worked for a short time for Tuct Tape in Carbondale and then various jobs within the Bi-County area. He was a member of Hurst First Baptist Church and loved riding his bike, talking on the radio and Cardinal baseball. He was so excited to see the Cardinals win the World Series. His brother, Lynn was stationed with the 101st Airborne, so Kenneth enjoyed the military and supporting the soldiers of the 101st. Survivors include- Brother- Steve Morse and wife Sharon of Carterville Brother- Larry Morse and wife Brenda of Murphysboro Brother- Jerry Morse of Herrin Brother- Robert Morse and fiance Melody of Cambria Sister- Teresa Jones and husband Bert of Herrin Several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, sister- Gean Augusta Morse, brother- Lynn Morse and sister in law- Jackie Morse. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow the services and friends and family are asked to meet directly at the graveside. Graveside funeral arrangements were entrusted to Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to the Williamson County Humane Society and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
