Kenneth Lawson

Goreville- KENNETH R LAWSON, age 83, of Goreville, passed away at 3:30am on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Herrin Hospital. Kenneth was born in Frankclay, Missouri on December 30, 1928, the son of Louis B. and Madge Mae (Watson) Lawson. He married Marie Swift in Potosi, Missouri on July 7, 1954. She survives in Goreville. Mr. Lawson proudly served in the United States Army. Survivors include his wife- Marie Lawson of Goreville Daughter- Ruby Purnell of Tunnel Hill Son- Joe and Gayla Lawson of Creal Springs Son- Ben and Wilma Lawson of Creal Springs Daughter- Nell and Ed Parish of Wiggins, MS Daughter- Anna Lawson of Energy Daughter- Debra and Rev. Shannon Perry of West Frankfort Daughter- Traci Horn of Cambria Daughter- Mary Stephenson of Energy 26 grandchildren 28 great grandchildren Brother- Frankie Lawson of Missouri Sisters- Delores Jean Lawson and Georgia Faye Lawson of Missouri He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers- Norman, Charles, and Lindell Lawson, and sister- Doris Elaine Lawson. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Shannon Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion with military rites performed by Herrins American Legion and VFW posts.
