Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home Full Obit with photo Herrin- KENNETH TOUPE ECKOLS, age 62, of Herrin, passed away at 1:50am on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion. Kenneth was born in Herrin on March 29, 1948, the son of Ralph Kenneth and Blanche Mary (Brown) Eckols. Mr. Eckols was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle of Marion. He was a United States Marine Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Kenneth loved playing the guitar and singing and enjoyed listening to Hank Williams. Survivors include his two daughters- Kathy Eckols of Marion, IL Kelly Moore of Marion, IL Six grandchildren- Noah, Gaje, Tangela, Lorriana, Ashton, and Eziekel Brother- Michael Eckols of West Frankfort, IL Four sisters- Sue Oakley of Herrin, IL Janice Rosie Eckols of herrin, IL Linda McGuire of Herrin, IL Patricia Patty Eckols of Herrin, IL Half-Sister- Sandra and Gary Morris of Anna, IL Three nephews- Mike Cain of Herrin, IL Jeff Cain of Herrin, IL Christopher Eckols of Pocahontas, IL Three great nephews and three great nieces He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew- Jason Cain. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery with military honors presented by Herrins VFW and American Legion Posts. Visitation will be held from 9-11am on Wednesday at the funeral home.
