Herrin-Kip Duane Gooch, 11, died Saturday, June 25 in Massac County as a result of an automobile accident. He was born May 1, 1994 in Herrin, Illinois to Kelli (Brewer) & Kip Duane Gooch, Sr.
Kip was a very good boy. He loved to serve the Lord and his family and was a very giving person, always thinking of others before himself. He was protective of his younger brother & sisters. It was said that he could fix anything and loved to work along side his dad. Kip was an honor student at Herrin Elementary School where he just completed the 5th grade. He was a member of New Birth Kingdom Church International of Carbondale. He enjoyed playing sports. He played football with Herrin Youth Football League. He was also a member of the 5th grade basketball team in which he was chosen to be on the traveling allstar team. He also enjoyed playing soccer, going to motorcycle races and fishing.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Herrin with Pastors David & Paulette Sherwood officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 9:00 P.M., Friday, July 1, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Herrin. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be made to the family. A trust has been set at Old National Bank in Marion. Memorial envelopes will be available at the church and the funeral home.
