LORENZO DOW ODUM, age 89, of Marion, passed away at 11:01pm on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Herrin Rehab and Nursing Center.
Lorenzo was born in Pittsburg on September 12, 1923, the son of Stella (Scott) and Lorenzo Dow Odum, Sr. He married Hazel Lea Davis on November 10, 1943 in Henderson, Kentucky. Together, they have shared sixty-nine years of marriage.
Mr. Odum was a member of the Third Baptist Church in Marion. He was a member of the Saline Masonic Lodge #39 of Goreville, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1987 and also the Masonic Lodge in Kingston. He was also a member of the Scottish Rites in Knoxville and the National Rifle Association. Dow was a World War II Navy Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson- Justin Odum, one great granddaughter Alei Brooke Odum, one brother- Charles Dallas Odum, and two sisters- Lodema Kuebler and Lola Kennedy.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 1 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Kallem officiating. Burial will follow in Rose-Hill Cemetery with military rites presented by Marions VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and members of the National Guard Flag Detail Unit. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be presented at 7 P.M. on Friday by the members of the Saline Masonic Lodge #39 of Goreville.
