LaDonna Marlow

d. May 21, 2007

Herrin - LaDonna Marlow (nee Craig) of Herrin passed away peacefully at 10:10pm on May 21, 2007 in Parkway Manor at Marion. LaDonna was born in Marion on May 29, 1927 to Howard and Bernice (Edwards) Craig. She married James (Jimmie) Marlow of Herrin in Arkansas on October 14, 1949. Jimmie preceded her in death on February 10, 1998. She is survived by her son, James Patrick Pat Marlow of Herrin and her daughter Kim Marlow-Nosek of St. Croix, Virgin Islands; four grandchildren, Lisa (Jared) Conner of St. Peters, Mo., Jamie (Tony) Beck of Herrin, Tisha Kosco of Wheaton and Justin Nosek of San Francisco. LaDonna was also the proud great-grandmother of four: Tyler Kosco-Walsh, Hayley Conner, Kaitlyn Beck and Julianne Beck. She also leaves behind her lifelong best friends, Mary Alice Copher and Peggy Darnell. Donna was preceded in death by her husband Jim; by her beloved son Terry Lynn MacDonald, her parents and her two brothers, Johnny and Bob Craig. Donna was an avid collector with an incredible eye for hidden treasures. She had the gift of seeing the beauty in things most of us would just pass by as junk. She used this gift to find the beauty in people as well. Donna loved her grandchildren with abandonment and each of them has inherited her intelligence, creativity, humor and strength. Funeral services celebrating LaDonnas life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 25, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00AM on Friday, May 25, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. LaDonna's family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S. 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
