Lana Jean (Lane) Sparks

Herrin- LANA JEAN (LANE) SPARKS, age 61, of Herrin, passed away at 6:40am on Monday, November 2, 2009 at her home. Lana was born in Herrin on May 11, 1948, the daughter of Leon Merle and Ruby Evalyn (Dagnan) Lane. Lana is survived by her mother, Ruby Lane, of Parkway Manor in Marion; her fianc and love of her life, Joe Restivo of Herrin; Son- Denton Hall Sparks, Jr. of Orlando, FL; two precious grandchildren- Kyler and Emily Sparks of Orlando, FL; two sisters- Janet and Mike Worthen of Herrin and Lisa and Todd Ward of Herrin; one brother- Scott and Jennifer Lane of Herrin; Five nephews-Todd Suddeth of Cambria, Tommy Tellar of Oldsmar, FL, mike Worthen, Jr. of Herrin, Jared and Cody Ward of Herrin; one niece- Rachel Ward of Herrin; one great nephew- Tyler Worthen of Herrin; her best friend- Elizabeth Marino of Memphis, TN; a special lady who was like a second mother- Ruby Restivo of Herrin; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and two infant daughters. Her loving hugs and her outpouring of a loving and caring heart will be missed by all. The family thanks God for His grace and peace that was bestowed upon her during her illness. All who loved her are at peace knowing she accepted Christ as her Savior. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Her uncle, Rev. Don Colson, will officiate. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 9-11am on Thursday at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the family.
