Herrin- Larry Graham Emery, 57, of Carterville, left this Earth, Sunday, June 8, 2003 at 7:10 AM, at his mother's home in Herrin. The Good Lord gave him to Harvey C. & Naomi (Graham) Emery on December 19, 1945. Larry served in the US Army from 1965-1967. He was a retired coal miner & formerly worked for the City of Herrin. In his spare time he enjoyed riding motorcycles and had a love of classic cars. Larry was united in marriage to longtime friend, Lynn E. Frasier (Emery) on June 4, 2001 in Paducah, KY. Survivors: Mother- Naomi Emery- Herrin Sister & brother in law- Lavonna & Jimmie Johnson- Carterville Son & dau in law- Christopher D. & Tiffany Emery- Valier Wife- Lynn E. Frasier (Emery)- Herrin Grandson- Christopher M. Emery- Virginia Beach, VA Granddaughter- Madison Emery- Valier, IL Four Stepchildren: Don Ogden & wife Destiny- Johnston City Rhonda Jones & husband Chris- Johnston City Rachette Champion- Freeman Spur Debra Stilley & husband Allan- Gibson City, IL Thirteen Step Grandchildren Brother & sister in law- Harvey G. & Karen Emery- Herrin Nephews: Mark & Jake Nieces: Leia, Michelle, & Lisa Great Nephews- Jeffrey, Cory, & Devon One Great Niece- Morgan Many Close friends His father; Harvey C. Emery and his first wife, Geraldine Shamborn, preceded him in death. The funeral service will be held at, 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. His son, Christopher will officiate. Larry will be buried with full military rites provided by the Herrin VFW & American Legion Posts at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice of Southern Illinois in the form of memorial donations and will be accepted at the funeral home.
