Larry G. Largent, 77, of Marion, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 12:38 pm at his home.
Larry was born December 6, 1943 in Bradford, Tennessee the son of Clayton and Lillian (Crocker) Largent. He married Pamela Weaver on July 14, 1984 and together they have shared 37 years of marriage.
He was a retired Chicago Police Officer. Larry proudly served his country in the Marine Corp. He was a lifetime member of the Marion VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147 where he was a longtime member of the funeral ritual team. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Buccaneers Club.
Survivors include his; Wife – Pamela Largent of Marion
Son – Michael Largent and wife Stephanie of Chicago
Daughter – Laura Acquavella and husband David of Saratoga Springs, New York
Two granddaughters – Emilia and Veronica Acquavella
Loved like a son – Daniel Weaver of Marion
Nephew – Lee Largent and wife Jayne of Minnesota
Preceded by his Parents, brothers and sisters – Charles, Bill, Jack, Mildred and two infants.
Memorial services will be Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 12:30 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with visitation from 12 pm until the time of service. Military rites will be presented by the Carterville American Legion Post 347, the Herrin American Legion Post 645, the Herrin VFW Post 1567, and the Marine Corp Honor Guard Teams.
