Lee Roy Morse

Hurst - Lee Roy Morse, 82, born February 3, l9l9 in Jonesboro, IL passed away At 4:44 a. m. on Monday, August 6, 2001 at the Marion VA Medical Center. He resided in Hurst, IL and attended the Hurst First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the American Legion in Hurst. He was a World War II Veteran where he served in the U. S. Navy as a gunner's mate. His wife of sixty years, Stella Mae Morse and their seven children survives him Steve and Sharon Morse - Carterville Lynn Morse - Marion Kenneth Morse - Sesser Larry & Brenda Morse - Murphysboro Jerry & Jackie Morse - Herrin Teresa & Bart Jones - Herrin Robert Morse - Herrin 6 grandchildren - Stephanie Morse Melissa Morse Daryl Morse Denise Nolen Amelia Morse Donita Morse 3 great grandchildren, Bryar Morse, Sabrina Bennett and Noah Noles Sister- Lucille O'Daniel- Jonesboro, IL His parents, Sylvester Morse, Jr and Grace Hoover Morse of Jonesboro, brother Richard Morse, Hurst and sister Mary Lilly Johnson of Carterville and infant daughter Augusta Jene Morse preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a. m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2001 Johnson Hughes Funeral Home with Rev Allen Summers officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Blairsville Cemetery in Blairsville with military rites by the Hurst American Legion Post #664. Memorials may be made to the Hurst First Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
