Lela M. King

MarionLela M. King, 91, passed away on Saturday, November 03, 2012 at 4:30 A.M. at Parkway Manor Nursing Home. Lela was born June 13, 1921 in Marion to William A. Fries and Louise Sander. Lela married Lester L. King on March 30, 1946 in Marion. He preceded her in death on July 27, 1980. Lela was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Marion. She was also an Eagles member, and a member of the VFW #1301 Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her; Son David A. King and wife Joyce of Ft. Myers, Florida Son Roger L. King and wife Pam of Marion NieceSandra Cooksey of Carlinville She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers; Leo & Elmer Fries. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 5, 2012 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. John Holst will officiate. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Monday at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Zion United Church of Christ in Marion.
