Lena Ann Cassulo

Herrin- Lena Ann Cassulo, 93, of Herrin, passed away with her family by her side at 11:35 AM, Monday, January 09, 2006 at Herrin Hospital. Lena was born on July 12, 1912 in Herrin to Paul & Maria (Marlo) Frattini. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Pete Cassulo. Mrs. Cassulo worked for many years at Rechter Bros. Clothing in Herrin, but retired from Smoller Bros. in Herrin after 17 years of service. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Lena was also a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and the Herrin Senior Citizens. She enjoyed working around the home and sewing. She loved family get-togethers and will be sadly missed by those that knew and loved her. SURVIVORS: Husband- Pete Cassulo- Herrin Nephew- Lynn Paul Frattini & wife Phyllis- Herrin Nephew- Stephen Richard Frattini, Jr. & wife Sharon- Herrin Nephew- Louis Cargnino & wife Susan- Wilmington, DE Niece- Barbara Giglotto- Collinsville Niece- Rosemary Cramer & husband Ron- Kingman, KS Several Great Nieces & nephews along with Many great great nieces & nephews Good Neighbors- Bill & Minnie Moffe- Herrin Special Friends- Cindy, Brenda, Jean & Frankie She was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Virginia Frattini and brothers; Tom & Stephen Frattini. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 13, 2006 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. The rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to OLMC/ St. Marys Education Foundation or a charity of the donors choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
