Leo G. Ladonsky, 75, formerly of Chicago passed away Thursday, July 25, 2002 at 4:22 A.M. at Marion Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held a Mitchell-Hughes funeral home Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Father Richard Mohr will officiate. Burial will follow at Denning Cemetery on the Orient Road. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by VFW Post #1301 of Marion. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. till time of the service.
Leo was born February 11, 1927 to Charles and Josephine Ladonsky. They both preceded him in death. Leo?s career was with the Illinois State Police. His first assignment upon graduation from the Academy was at District 15. In 1965 he was selected for training with the newly created Air Operations. His position was as pilot flying the District 15 Aircraft. He was a member of the American Legion for 45 years. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and of Catholic Faith.
A daughter and son-in-law Carol and Keith Mocaby of Marion survive him. Son and Dau-in-law Edward and Candice Ladonsky of Bartlett, IL. Two granddaughters Brittney Winstead and Jaelyn Mocaby both of Marion. Two brothers Charles and Edward Ladonsky precede him in death.
