Leo W. Fries, age 84, died Thursday, March 29, at 6:22 P.M. at Parkway Manor in Marion. Visitation for Mr. Fries was from 5:00-9:00 P.M. on Sunday, with funeral services at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 2nd followed by burial at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Randy Houston officiated. Mr. Fries was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Marion, Masonic Lodge #89 A.F. & A.M. 32nd Degree, and a member of the IBEW #702 in Marion. Memorials may be given to the Alzeheimers Association.
Leo was born October 17, 1916 to William A. and Louise (Sanders) Fries in Marion, Illinois. He married Janavee Turner on July 5, 1941 in Hernando, Mississippi. He is survived by his wife of Marion; one sister, Lela King of Marion; two nephews, Roger (& Pam) King of Marion and David King of Rockport. One niece, Sandra (& Earl) Russell of Carlinville, three great-nephews, John, Charles & Gregory Cooksey; one great-niece, Jana Knor. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Elmer (Tuggle) Fries, Sister-in-law Reba Fries, and Brother-in-law, Lester King.
