LeRoy Jack, age 89, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at his home in Marion, Illinois.
LeRoy was born January 26, 1932 in Marion, Illinois, a son of Arlie and Genevieve (Tucker) Jack. He married June Wollard on March 26, 1965 in Herrin, IL. He graduated Marion High School and joined the US Army, serving in Germany during the Korean War. When he came home he worked as a mechanic at DX Station in Marion. He moved to Elgin, IL working at the State Hospital. He came back to Marion and worked as a mechanic and welder at Fabick in Marion until his retirement. LeRoy had a passion for fishing.
He is survived by his spouse June Jack of Marion, IL; four sons, LeRoy Jack Jr., Roy Lee (Deborah) Jack of Energy, IL, Joseph A. Avery of Spillertown, IL, and Scott L. Avery of Whiteash, IL; ; Seven Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren, and a special Great Grandchild Jerice Lane Busch who LeRoy and June had raised ; two siblings, Lucille (Tom) Dalton of Marion, IL and William Arlie (Deanna) Jack of Goreville, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arlie and Genevieve Jack and his Daugher In Law, Deborah S. Jack, and several Brothers & Sisters.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 16th, 2021 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 16, 2021, 11:00 AM at Mitchell Hughes with Rev. Kevin McNeely officiating. Burial will follow at Cana Cemetery in Goreville.
