Leroy William Raines

Carterville- Leroy William Raines, age 71, of Carterville, passed away at 10:05am on Friday, April 12, 2013, at LandmarkHospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  Leroy was born in Aurora on July 17, 1941, the son of Edward and Ethel Raines.  He had one sister- Martha and one brother- David.  Leroy has resided in Carterville since 2008.   He is survived by his family at Our Directions, Inc.  Leroy was the man who shook hands with all new faces. He enjoyed being outdoors, singing, laughing, coffee, cheeseburgers, and yes- van rides to go on the outings.  He will be missed dearly, but we all know he is at peace with God and will have everlasting life.  Celebration of Life services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, April 15, 2013 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev.
