Lester E. Morgan

Marion- Lester Eugene Morgan, 69, of Marion passed away October 9th, 2011 at the Marion VA Medical Center. He was born on June 15th, 1942 in Marion Illinois to Virgil Lester and Roberta (Lewis) Morgan, who precede him in death. He married Carol Emory on February 14, 1993 in Marion, where she resides. Mr. Morgan worked as a laborer for Boyle Midway Center. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany. He was a member of the VFW Post 1301. Mr. Morgan was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Johnston City and the Ainad Temple in East St. Louis and a member of the Williamson County Shrine Club. Masonic services will be conducted by the Williamson County Lodge on Thursday at 7:00pm. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside. Survivors include: Daughter Kim Morgan of Joliet and Eric Meisinger Daughter Susie Morgan Morrow and Miriam of New York City Daughter Karen Morgan Boggess and Cindy Boggess of Joliet Daughter Kim (Kevin) Freeman of Carpentersville Daughter Michelle Nelson of Algonquin 11 Grandchildren: Justin Bojan Gillian Murphy Xander Morgan Rachel Morrow Paige Nelson Michael Freeman Nicholas Freeman Ava Meisinger Cole Nelson Samantha Freeman Logan Morrow Brothers- Virgil Morgan of Marion Robert Morgan of Shelbyville Sister- Crystal Morgan of Marion He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marlene Nicholson and brother Jim Morgan. Funeral services for Mr. Morgan will be held at the Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, IL on Friday October 14th, 2011 at 11AM. There will be a visitation on Thursday night from 5-8 at the funeral home. Pat Samples and Dale McGee will officiate. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Williamson County Shrine Club or the Marion VA Hospital.
