Lester Junior Parks, 72, of Johnston City, died at 2 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2001, at his residence.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Monday at White Oak Cemetery in Creal Springs, with the Rev. Bruce Thurman officiating. Visitation was from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home preceding the services.
Mr. Parks was the owner of Parks Used Cars and was retired from Sugar Creek Coal Mine.
He was born on Sept. 15, 1928 in Williamson County to George and Cynthia (Jolly) Parks. He married Opal McDonald on Oct. 22, 1954 in Salem. She survives. Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Annette Branche of Freeman Spur; a daughter, Carol Parks of Johnston City; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven brothers, and six sisters.
His parents and one son, Larry Parks, preceded him in death.
