Lindsey C. Lawwill

Herrin- LINDSEY C. LAWWILL, JR, age 66, of Herrin, passed away at his residence at 9:50pm on Thursday, December 4, 2008. Lindsey was born in Evanston, Illinois on July 16, 1942, the son of Jewel Mae (Smith) and Lindsey Lawwill, Sr. He married Patricia Berra in Herrin on December 19, 1965. Together, they shared forty-two years of marriage. She survives in Herrin. Mr. Lawwill was a member of the First Baptist Church in Herrin. He was a former city alderman in ward #4 and a former President of the Kiwanas. Lindsey retired from Southern Illinois University where he worked with computer affairs. Survivors include his wife- Patricia Lawwill of Herrin, IL Son and Daughter-in-law- Kevin R. and Wendy Lawwill of Herrin, IL Daughter and Son-in-law- Michelle and Brandon Johnson of Herrin, IL Grandson- Nathan Lawwill of Herrin, IL Brother- Ronald C. and Jan Lawwill of Homastasa, FL Sister- Vicki L. and Dick Lynn of Omaha, NE Several nieces and nephews Mr. Lawwill was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 6pm on Monday, December 8, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Jack Hall officiating. A time of gathering will be held from 4-6pm on Monday at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the American Diabetes Association.
