Herrin-Linford Hale, 81, died 9:19 A.M., Friday, January 17, 2003 at Herrin Hospital.
Linford was born February 27, 1921 in Carterville to Thurman & Augusta (Guenther) Hale. He married Norma Mildred (Sexton) Hale on January 3, 1942 in Herrin. She survives.
He was retired, having worked for Herrin Unit 4 school district in maintenance and was also a bus driver. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Herrin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Marie Baggett, Louise Beavers & Lucille Hale.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 20, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. David Hale & Rev. Michael Tetmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
