Herrin- FRANCES LINNEA HARRIS, age 94, of Herrin, passed away at 8:50am on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion. Frances Linnea was born on January 9, 1913 in Herrin, the oldest child of John Henry and Dollie Marie (Davis) McKenzie. She married George Tiffin Harris in Crown Point, Indiana in 1937. He preceded her in death in September of 1989. Linnea was a homemaker and an L.P.N. in the newborn nursery of Lourdes Hospital. Her hobbies included quilting and painting. She received comfort from Gods presence in her life. Being a member of the Herrin United Methodist Church, she was very active in Sunday School. Linnea felt Gods work for her was to help cheer up the other residents at the nursing home. Survivors include two sons and their spouses: Tom & Linda Harris of Las Vegas, NV and Donald & Linda Harris of Memphis, TN; two daughters and their spouses- Eloise and Donald Berg of Chicago, IL and Louise & John Diana of Sarasota, FL; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister-June Sanders. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- George, one brother- Ellis McKenzie, and one sister- Viola Swalls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, with Rev. Ed Hoke officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S. 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.
