Herrin- LOIS ENID ANSINELLI, age 87, of Herrin, passed away at 12:50am on Friday, May 2, 2008 at Herrin Hospital.
Lois was born in Herrin on January 25, 1921, the daughter of Will and Hespi (Wingett) Hopper. She married Joe Ansinelli in Herrin on June 4, 1941. They shared thirty-four years of marriage until his death on December 3, 1975.
Lois was a homemaker and a health care aid tending to the care of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren and later caring for elderly parents. She worked at various assisted living homes, until her retirement at the age of 80. Lois will be remembered for her caring ways to family and neighbors, and for her family holiday meals.

One daughter and son-in-law- Nancy and Bill Woodhouse of Herrin, IL

Gibson of Herrin; Toni and William Ladd of Herrin; Valerie and Joe Fountain of
Dothan; AL; Bradi and Rob Havens of Murphysboro, IL; William Woodhouse of
Herrin, IL; Randi Ansinelli of Herrin; and Kelly Ansinelli of Herrin

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband- Joe, sister- Anita Verga, and two brothers- Leon Hopper and Miles (Noyes) Hopper.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 5, 2008 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, with Mr. Bill Hopper officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friendship Care Resident Activity Fund, the Alzheimers Association or an organization of the donors choice.
