Lora Mae McGinnis

Herrin- LORA MAE McGINNIS, age 85, of Herrin, passed away at 11:30am on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at her home in Herrin. Lora Mae was born in Herrin on March 12, 1924, the daughter of Walter J. and Bessie (Wagley) Elders. She married James E. McGinnis in Jackson, MO on August 29, 1941. Together, they shared fifty-nine years of marriage. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2000. Mrs. McGinnis was a homemaker. She retired from Smoler Brothers in Herrin after twenty-five years. Survivors include her daughter- Joy Daugherty of Herrin, IL Son- Bruce and Sue McGinnis of Herrin, IL Daughter-In-Law- Elizabeth McGinnis of Herrin, IL Four Grandchildren- Robin Daugherty of Herrin, IL Jamie and Scott Pribble of Herrin, IL David and Kerrie Daugherty of Herrin, IL Mike and Sherrie McGinnis of Herrin, IL Six Great Grandchildren- Kailee Pribble, Steven and Nikki Knoob, Tylar Pribble, Jared Daugherty, Jordan Daugherty, and Zachary McGinnis all of Herrin, IL Three great great grandchildren- Emersyn Clark, Savannah Knoob, and Lexis Lacy all of Herrin, IL Sister- Peggy and Bill Jeralds of Herrin, IL Sister-in-law- Pauline Elders of Herrin, IL Brother-In-Law- Boyd Watkins of White Ash, IL She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- James McGinnis, son-in-law-Paul Daugherty, two sisters- Mary Bearden and Tempa Watkins, one brother- Bud Elders, and one great grandson- Skylar Pribble. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.
