Marion- Loren E. Bud King, 75, of Marion, passed away at 7:55 PM, Friday, October 5, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion. Loren was born on July 30, 1932 in Blairsville to Charles Edward & Emma (Strunk) King. He married Marilyn Rose Masters on September 8, 1951 in Murphysboro. She preceded him in death on September 6, 2003. Mr. King was a US Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He started driving trucks over the road for Egyptian Trucking. His love of trucking eventually led to owning several trucking lines, including; Beece Freight Lines, Fed Co, KTY Leasing, and Lakeland Motors. Survivors include- Son & daughter in law- Maynard & JoAnn King of Marion Daughter & son in law- Sandy & Pat Bushue of Cumming, GA Four Grandchildren: Dr. Amy Carrico & husband Jeff of Marion Kristy Long & husband Steve of Marion Chad Bushue of Cumming, GA Chelsea Bushue of Cumming, GA Five Great Grandchildren: Dylan Carrico of Marion Joanna Carrico of Marion Cole Maynard Carrico of Marion Bailey Long of Marion Brody Long of Marion Sister & brother in law- Aloha & Alfred Finney of Metropolis, IL Brother & sister in law- Joe & Geraldine King of Dalton, GA Many nieces, nephews and cousins He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers; Bill, Tommy & Wayne King. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. David Maragni will officiate. Burial will follow at Miners Cemetery in Royalton. Military rites will be performed at graveside by the Herrin VFW & American Legion Posts. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM, Monday, October 8, 2007 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.
