Herrin - On Wednesday, July 4, 2001 at 3:35 a. m. the Lord took the soul of Lorene Hindman Finney to her heavenly home. Mrs. Finney was a native of Illinois and former resident of Herrin, but had been living for the past six years in Green Valley, AZ where she died.
Mrs. Finney was born October l6, 1912 in Energy, IL to George E. and Rosa (Childers)
Hindman.
She married Rev. C. Earl Finney on May 12, l929 at Energy First Baptist Church. He died August 31, 1975.
Mrs. Finney was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church, a former member of Herrin Second Baptist Church, a member of the Southern Star Eastern Star Chapter in Green Valley and was honored recently with her 50-year membership pin in that organization. The wife of a Baptist minister, she worked all her life in churches around the State of Illinois.

Many relatives and friends who loved her.
Her parents, George and Rose Hindman, husband, the Rev. C. Earl Finney and one brother Leoran "Hiney" Hindman and one sister, Dorothy Elliott and one grandson Bradley Earl Grubb preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July l4, 2001 at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Brad Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Eastern Star Rites will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville next to her husband and parents..
Memorials may be made to Herrin Second Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
