Loretta T. Byrley-Stroud

Herrin- Loretta Theresa Byrley-Stroud, 53, of Herrin, passed away at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 2, 2013 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Loretta was born on September 24, 1960 in Chicago to Earl J. and Dianne (Sealander) Byrley.  She married Keith Stroud on August 2, 1988 in Kentucky.  He survives of Herrin. She was a faithful and dedicated homemaker who formerly worked as a LPN at Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro and Mattingly’s Nursing Home in Energy.  She was a kind and caring woman who loved and cared for her family.  She had a nice sense of humor and wasn’t afraid to let others know what she thought.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include- Husband- Keith Stroud of Herrin Son- John Fisher of Hurst Daughter- Nicolette Leeper and husband Josh of Johnston City Daughter- Natasha Stroud and husband Royce Mercks of Herrin Three grandchildren plus one on the way-                 Loretta Stroud and Dennis J. Leeper of Johnston City                 Thaison Mercks of Herrin Brother- Earl Byrley of Herrin Brother- Joe Byrley of Herrin Sister- Carmen Prakel of Herrin Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, sister- Starr Travis, brother- Butch Daily and one nephew- Michael Davenport. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 9, 2013 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.  Rev. Adam Mach will officiate.  Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Monday, at the funeral home.
