Herrin- Louis P. Marlow, 90, of Herrin, passed away at 3:32 AM, Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Herrin Hospital. Louis was born on August 6, 1920 in Herrin to Pete & Mary (Re) Marlow. He married Dorothy Venegoni on June 22, 1948 in Herrin. She survives in Herrin. He was a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Force. Once honorably discharged, he worked many years until his retirement at Allen Industries as a Cost Accountant. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and was the last member of the Ranger's Club in Herrin. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He will be dearly missed. Survivors include- Wife- Dorothy Marlow of Herrin Daughter- Barbara Lilianstrom and husband Robert of OFallon Son- Richard Marlow and wife Mary Kay of Johnston City Brother in law- Robert Venegoni of Herrin Brother in law- Bill Venegoni and wife Jo Ann of Arnold, MO Nieces- Tiffany & Nicole Venegoni of St. Louis, MO He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 10, 2011 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin. Visitation will be from 10:00 until time to process to the church on Friday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois or San Carlo Cemetery and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 South 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
