Herrin-Louisa K. Collard, 99, died 5:20 A.M., Monday, December 08, 2003 at Herrin Hospital.
Louisa was born May 9, 1904 in Coal, Illinois to Angello & Clara (Bonetti) Coloni. She married Ora Collard on March 9, 1926 in Florida. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1961.
Louisa was retired. She was former owner of Collards Heating & Air in Herrin. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Herrin Womens Club & the Herrin Senior Citizens. She was head of the Craft Department at the Senior Citizens for 25 years. She was chosen the outstanding senior citizen at the Senior Fest held at Illinois Center Mall. She was also the WSIL-TV Unsung Hero for her dedication in working with seniors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Ora Collard, Jr., four brothers,four sisters and one son in law, Ferrell Goins.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 11, 2003 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church with Msgr. Ken Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:30 to 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 10th at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home. Prayer service will be at 5:30 P.M. on Wednesday.
