Lowell Dean Biggs

Marion- LOWELL DEAN BIGGS, age 91, of Marion, passed away at 2:26am on Wednesday December 10, 2008 at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Lowell was born in Prosperity, Illinois on November 17, 1917, the son of Grace Bennett and Arleigh Wilkins. He married Elizabeth Draper Ament in Herrin in 1946. She preceded him in death. Mr. Biggs was a coal miner and owner of Biggs Iron and Metal in Marion. Lowell was a United States Air Force Veteran having served in the European theatre during World War II. He was a member of the Marion VFW. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law- John and Margaret Biggs of Oklahoma City, OK; one grandson- Justin Biggs; and one granddaughter- Minna Biggs. He was preceded in death by his parents and one half brother- Gene Wilkins. Private graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion.
