Lucille Ann "Lucy" Harvel

Energy- Lucille Ann “Lucy” Harvel, age 85, of Energy, passed away at 2:05am on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Herrin Hospital.

Lucy was born in Chicago on October 6, 1934, the daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth (Fox) Dangler. She married Joseph A.P. Harvel in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 4, 1953. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1998.

Mrs. Harvel was a member of the Herrin First Baptist Church. She served as a volunteer for the Herrin House of Hope. Prior to her retirement, she had worked in admitting at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include her daughter- P.J. Harvel of Energy

Son- Darwin and Teal Harvel of Ray City, Georgia

Grandson- Johnathon Harvel of Energy

Granddaughter- Eleasha and James Milicevic of Tallahassee, Florida

Great Granddaughter- Scarlett Milicevic of Tallahassee, Florida

Brother- Bill Dangler of Corona, California

DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS RELATED TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS, private funeral services will be held at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Pastor Mark Goldman officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery.

For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home, 201 South 13th Street, Herrin, Illinois 62948.
