Lucille Summers

Marion Lucille Summers, 79, passed away Monday, January 2, 2006 at 9:26 A.M. at her home in Marion. Lucille was born March 2, 1926 in Williamson County to Walter Samuel Pearce and Mammie (Strain) Thompson. She married Bill D. Summers on August 11, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and together they shared over 58 years of marriage until his death on January 24, 2001. Lucille owned and operated her own dog grooming business Lucilles. She was a protestant. Lucille is survived by: Two Sons; Larry Summers and wife Freda of Huntsville, AL Keith Summers and wife Donna of Belleville, IL Daughter Vicki Wicks and husband Gene of Normal, IL Nine Grandchildren Several Great Grandchildren Niece Brenda Chapel of Sea Island, GA Preceded by: Parents, Husband Bill, Daughter Linda Smith, Sister Dorothy Chapel and Brother Guy Pearce. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. James Rivett officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home. For those who prefer memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes will be available at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
