Marion Lydia Jane Jackson, 94, died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 3:40 P.M. in Fountains Nursing Care Center in Marion. Lydia was born June 08, 1910 in Williamson County to Harmon & Emma (Meneese) Sellars. She married D. Wesley Phillips on August 20, 1932 in Murphysboro and he preceded her in death in November, 1954. She later married Doss Jackson on February 02, 1957 in Williamson County and he preceded her in death on May 14, 1995. Lydia worked for Sangamo Electric. She attended Warder Street Baptist Church. Lydia was a member of the Eastern Star & White Shrine LeRoy Chapter for 53 years. She enjoyed gardening at her home on Vicksburg Street, where she and Doss sold strawberries and vegetables for many years. Lydia is survived by: Her Daughter Barbara Dalcher and husband David of Marion Grandson Ralph Golf and wife Julie of Eugene, Oregon Step-Grandson Steve Dalcher and wife Stephanie of Muncie, IN Six Great Grandchildren Many nieces & nephews Preceded by: Parents, Two Husbands, Four Brothers Carl, Coy, Louie & Dean Sellars and Two Sisters Lillian Sellars and infant sister. Funeral services will be Monday, March 21, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Carl Cottingham officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Eastern Star services will be performed at 6:00 P.M. Sunday by the Eastern Star & White Shrine LeRoy Chapter #350 of Marion. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff of Hospice of Southern Illinois and Fountains Nursing Care Center for the loving care and attention that was given to their loved one.
